Terms of Service
Article 1 (Purpose)
These Terms set out the conditions and procedures for using Norabox (the "Service"), a personal project run by Imgyeong Lee (the "Operator"), and the rights and obligations of the Operator and users.
Article 2 (Definitions)
- "Service" means the website and related features the Operator provides so that users can create rooms to watch YouTube videos at the same time with the people they choose, and use related convenience features.
- "User" means anyone who uses the Service under these Terms.
- "Member" means a user who has signed up with an email address and holds an account.
- "Content" means any information a user puts on the Service, including posts, room names, playlists and links.
Article 3 (Effect and Changes of These Terms)
- These Terms take effect when posted on the Service. By using the Service, users are deemed to agree to them.
- The Operator may change these Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.
- Changes are announced on the Service at least 7 days before they take effect, or at least 30 days before for changes unfavorable to users.
- Users who do not agree to the changed Terms may stop using the Service and delete their account. Continuing to use the Service after the effective date means agreeing to the changed Terms.
Article 4 (Nature of the Service)
- The Service is a non-profit project run by the Operator as an individual, and is free of charge.
- The Service provides features such as watching YouTube videos together at the same time and creating rooms.
- The Operator may change, suspend or end all or part of the Service at any time. Before ending the Service, the Operator will announce it on the Service in advance where possible.
- The Service may be interrupted without notice due to maintenance, outages, or policy changes of external services such as YouTube.
Article 5 (Eligibility)
Children under 14 may not sign up as members.
Article 6 (Sign-up)
- Signing up requires only an email address; no real name or other personal information is required.
- Email addresses are used only to identify members and to prevent indiscriminate posting.
- Members must use their own email address and must not use anyone else's.
- Members are responsible for managing their own account and may not transfer or lend it to others.
Article 7 (Account Deletion and Data Removal)
- Members may delete their account at any time using the Service's features.
- When a member asks to delete their account, it immediately becomes "deleted."
- One month after the deletion date, the member's email address, content and other related data are all removed.
- However, information that must be kept by law may be kept for the period the law requires.
Article 8 (Privacy)
- The Operator collects only the minimum information needed to run the Service.
- The items collected, purposes of use, retention periods and destruction procedures are set out in the separate Privacy Policy.
- The Operator does not sell or provide users' personal information to third parties without their consent, except when required by law.
Article 9 (Users' Obligations)
Users must not:
- Act against the law or public order;
- Infringe others' rights, such as copyright or portrait rights;
- Share obscene, violent or hateful content;
- Harass or defame other users, or spread their personal information;
- Post spam, advertisements, floods or other indiscriminate content;
- Overload the Service or its servers, circumvent its security, or interfere with its normal operation;
- Impersonate the Operator or anyone else.
Article 10 (Content)
- Rights to and responsibility for content belong to the user who posted it.
- The Operator may remove or hide content without prior notice if it judges that the content violates these Terms or the law.
- The Operator does not use users' content for any purpose other than providing the Service.
Article 11 (YouTube Content)
- The Service plays videos using the YouTube API Services. By using the Service, users also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service.
- The Google Privacy Policy applies to information processed through YouTube.
- Videos played on the Service are provided directly by YouTube; the Operator does not store or distribute them. The uploader of each video and YouTube are responsible for its content and rights.
- Norabox is not affiliated with, endorsed or approved by YouTube or Google.
Article 12 (Donations)
- The Service runs only on voluntary donations from users.
- Donating is optional, and the Service treats users the same whether or not they donate.
- Donations are voluntary support given without anything in return, so they are not refunded except where the law provides otherwise.
- Donations are made voluntarily, and no reward that differentiates the quality of the Service is given for them.
- Depending on the type, donations are made by bank transfer or through an external platform (Crepe), whose terms also apply.
Article 13 (Open Source)
- The Service's source code will be published at https://github.com/ImgyeongLee/Norabox under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 (AGPL-3.0) by the end of October 2026.
- AGPL-3.0 governs the use, modification and distribution of the source code, and these Terms do not limit any rights AGPL-3.0 grants.
- These Terms apply only to the instance of the Service run by the Operator. Services that third parties run from the source code have nothing to do with the Operator.
Article 14 (Disclaimer)
- The Service is provided "as is," and the Operator makes no warranty as to its accuracy, reliability or continuity.
- The Operator is not liable for damages caused by natural disasters, outages or policy changes of external services, or causes attributable to users.

- Notwithstanding the above, the Operator is liable under applicable law for damages caused by the Operator's intentional misconduct or gross negligence.
Article 15 (Restrictions)
If a user violates Article 9, the Operator may issue a warning, remove content, suspend use temporarily, or terminate the account.
Article 16 (Governing Law and Disputes)
